(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey, i'm trying to learn piano. I want to play my favourite anime OST's and whatnot :p Now, here is the question... Do i really need to learn reading music from sheets? Also, how long will it take me to learn this song-

&

Here's what i already know: I know the piano keys, i know semi-tones and full tones, i know the C & G scales.
Please consider that i'm a very quick learner!
Cheers in advance

I actually really want to learn piano too.

Have you seen The Garden of Words (Kotonoha no Niwa), this was one of the tracks from the OST by Kashiwa Daisuke and a fantastic piece of piano music at that, especially the last 3/4 minutes it's incredible.

Also from Clannad, have you listened to all the Piano Arrange albums? Toki wo Kizamu Uta / Torch and Piano no Mori were fantastic:

Also Aria, has one of the best soundtracks I've ever come across in an anime.

Sorry I'm not able to answer you question though, but it's nice to be able to chat about piano music from any anime really. I really love good piano pieces.

I also love Angel Beats, and Zero No Tsukaima, please check it out if you haven't already... Add me on SKYPE pain28091 maybe we can exchange good titles and stuff :p

I would very strongly recommend that you learn to read sheet music. It's a useful skill for any instrument, and most piano music you will find is going to be transcribed using it.

I have trouble playing while reading sheets, so I just use the program synthesis and memorize the notes as I play. It's free and very useful. I strongly recommend.

Cheers, i'm still at the stage of learning how to use all the keys, and using both hands... Are you self taught, r do you take lessons?

One of my favorite songs I learned has to be the Metal Gear Solid Theme song.

Yeah I would learn to read music from sheets,it will help you a lot quicker to learn to play, depending how much you practice daily will depend on how soon you'll be able to play your tunes, start with simple easy tunes and build your finger muscles & reflexes with timing etc, jump in to deep and you'll only get frustrated bud,

Good luck Winky Winky
