(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay so today my headset broke (Turtle beach PX3 with DSS) this is the third time this model has broke on me (replaced each time) this is due to it being made from plastic and my "BIG" head stretching it out.

So with the next gen round the cornor (PS4) i was think if trying a different brand, i have heard really good things about Astro and their headsets so i was looking at the A50 (I have to have wireless). But i wanted to get peoples opion on headset's, and how headsets have been for them, i want a really strong robust headset this time that will work with my big head.

What do people suggest from thier experience?

Get the A50s. Trust me they are worth it. Ive had mine for almost a year and they are by far the best thing to touch my ears. The battery life isnt bad and Ive had no problems.

Invest in a legit surround sound speaker system. Get a cheap mic if you wanna talk to people.

I have the Sony Pulse headset (which also duals as a pair of headphones for an ipod ect.) and they're great. I played a lot of cod and these were great for soundwhoring ect. (the headset transmits pulses which you can feel which ACTUALLY tell you their direction.)

Today Will Be Different
I've used Turtle Beach, Tritton's and have been wanting to buy Astro's ever since I've tried the A40s at a friends house in 2009. In all honesty I'd go with Astro's, I just like them more than Trittons and they're obviously better than TBs. I do have a bias though, I prefer wired over wireless for many reasons, mainly no charging/battery packs etc.

Now headsets are going to be the same no matter what generation the console is or if it's PC. Optical is optical, so you'll be receiving and decoding all sounds with it. If you're deadset on the A50s get them, but if you aren't and you may want the "leash" then I'd recommend getting the A40s. Regardless, enjoy those Astros and treat them with respect. :y:
