After over a decade of being against the law the the Chinese government has lifted the ban on the manufacture and sale of video game consoles.
The largest country on earth, in terms of population instated the ban in the year 2000 because they feared letting the population have them would “corrupt its youth”, but will now allow for distribution of consoles in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. The SFTZ is a test zone of sorts for trying out new economic strategies before going country wide.
If all goes well during testing and the markets open for the entire country, this will be the biggest market for video games in the world. A game changer for sure. How do you think China could affect the video game industry?
They are going to make a game that relates to China attacking the US, but in reality that game was our only warning and we look out our windows Red Dawn all over again.
Right now the PC market is the main gaming market so this should open the door to console games.
Also looking forward to the terms on getting it to China.
