First off, thanks for your interest in becoming an Elite member and for those of you that already are Elite, thanks for contributing to NextGenUpdate!
Here are some of the most commonly asked questions in the community by users regarding Elite. Thank you to Luke for making some of this thread and also bringing it up.

Why should I buy an Elite Membership? What benefits do I get?

I want to purchase an Elite Membership but don't have a Credit Card!
You can purchase an Elite Membership without a Credit Card by purchasing the annually (yearly) subscription for $29.99 or 2 year subscription for only $49.99.
Why do I need a Credit Card for the monthly and quarterly subscriptions?

How do I change my Userbar, User color, and/or edit my Quick Links?
You can do this by following the steps below:
- Start off by mousing over your name at the top right corner of any NGU page.
- Next, click on "Control Panel"
- Once you complete that, click on "Edit Profile" located on the left side of that page.
- From that page, scroll down to "Additional Information" and you will see where you can edit your Userbar, User color, and/or your Quick Links!
Why does Elite cost money? What is the money going towards?
Elite helps pay for the server that keeps the site up along with maintenance and protection. The server is not free unfortunately and can get to be pretty pricey, so we need your help to pay for all that stuff. From time to time you also get Elite only exclusives including giveaways. The money also goes towards new things the site brings to you (design,features,layout).
Can I share what is in the Elite section to Non-Elites?
No you may not leak Elite under any circumstance. Super top secret stuff in there, so be sure to keep it on the down low! In all seriousness, it is against the NGU Elite Terms and Conditions to share anything in the Elite section to a Non-Elite Member or your Xploder license. The same rule apply's for the Premium section as well. Failure to abide by this policy can cause your Elite/Premium Membership to be revoked without being entitled to a refund. You can also get a serious infraction and or ban for leaking Elite exclusive content.
Will I revert to Premium when my Elite expires? How do I get Premium?
If you purchased a Premium membership when Premium was available, then the answer is a yes to the first question, if not then no you will not revert to Premium. Premium is no longer available to purchase. Only the users that had purchased it before Elite came out are able to stay in it, so that makes it an exclusive group.
What type of Payment methods are accepted to purchase an Elite membership?

Is it possible to get Elite any other way besides paying for it?

What is Elite Founder mean? How do I become an Elite Founder?
Elite Founders where some of the VERY first users that got an Elite Subscription, so they belong to an exclusive group and get a special Elite Founder title. Elite Founder's also got some exclusive content and perks when it was first introduced. Unfortunately, you can not get Elite Founder anymore because it was only available for a limited time.
Is it possible to change the color of the new NGU Layout? I have seen others do it.
Yes it's possible, but for Elite only, with the new theme you are able to change the layout color by simply going into the Elite Dashboard and doing the following:
- First go You must login or register to view this content.
- Then go ahead and select a color you like You must login or register to view this content.
- After that just click You must login or register to view this content. to see the changes!
- You can do the same thing to change your username and usertitle as well. You must login or register to view this content.

So after reading the FAQ about the elite membership, it states with 3 months or more on elite membership, I will get a copy of the xploder cheat system as long as I am an elite.. so my question is if I cancel the elite after a year I will lose the xpolder cheat system?

Just be constructive with what you say, and you will get thanked on threads, posts, and even get reputation from people.
Releasing tools and making threads that offer important information or help others will also get you some rep.

The whole system is pretty fucked up. I don't have a credit card and I won't get one. So my only chance to get the premium features is to spend at least 30 bucks. Are you kidding me? I ain't gonna buy the cat in the bag. I don't care about worthless stuff like alternate colors. All I care about is the savegames. But since there is no way to even see what games are listed in this premium area the whole thing is just a waste of money. I just put some money on my Paypal to buy one month premium. Oooops! Not working! I need a credit card. So I just say "fuck it" and keep my money. The whole elite/premium thing is a bummer. Whoever came up with it really should take some time and rework the whole thing.
