(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); It appears Justin has decided to clean up the company HDD space and given its users one week before it removes all saved content.
The reason?
Lack of views against live content.
On average 50% has one view, and most have 10 views or more on older live streams.
Of course Twitch Interactive as the company is known has taken over Justin.tv used to be a sub section but now a major part of the business.
Also means that live streams no longer have a home and the site is now turning into a service for live streams.
Given how Twitch was part of a rumour with Google paying $1 billion to take over you have to wonder.
Could we see YT linked to Twitch with videos going straight to YT and live streams being Twitch based?
Of course no press release from both companies on the take over so we don't know.

Who knows!

But 7 years worth of content mean the server storage bill going to come down quite a bit.
Couple YTers copy their content to YT, so this puts into question how people are going to cope with this change.

Perhaps they should just keep the archive videos for a week or a couple of days after the broadcast. That gives a window for users to download archived copies and reduces the amount of storage they need on their end. It also means that users aren't forced to generate video archives themselves, and can still rely on the service for this function.

I still don't support Google buying Twitch, Google would absolutely mess up the whole system up with that bull shit so called "Google Plus"

If Google was smart....
Create an MCM called Twitch move all gaming channels over to that and rally behind them.
Merged with Twitchs live streaming into google allowing people to search live streams.
Use the twitch tech to improve YT live streaming.
Allow old Twitch videos to go on YT, even strike deals with gaming companies for live streaming of gaming news/events.
So much google could do which would be useful with Twitch.
Google could also pay better compared to Twitch bring more companies on board.

Google would care about gamers right away if they bought Twitch, but after a while, they would leave them there just like they did with YouTube with the gaming copyright strict act. Twitch videos automatically go on YouTube already if you set the account up :p.
