Far Cry 4's map size will be about the size of Far Cry 3, according to Game Director Alex Hutchinson who stated that Ubisoft elected to focus on building a world that is more dense and alive, than giving the gamer's more land to explore.

“With Far Cry 4, we felt that the map size for Far Cry 3 was really good,” Hutchinson told Game Informer in a new podcast. “Maybe you can even go slightly smaller. And instead of going bigger area, we would focus on density. So for me, it was try to pack in more events where you come across NPCs, more events where you come across enemies doing unusual stuff.”

Far Cry 4 will also offer a new addition to the game that is like the Infamous series. This new addition to Far Cry 4 is called "Karma Events." better known as side missions that the game has to offer. These mini-missions, Hutchinson says, will add more “life” and “density” to the game.

Hutchinson later explained that, "going bigger" was an exciting idea and something Ubisoft had considered when planning Far Cry 4.

"There's always a desire to go bigger in open-world games because it just feels cooler," he said. "That sense that if it's bigger then there is more to do; if it's bigger there's more to explore."

However, Ubisoft decided that Far Cry 4 will have a more dense world than Far Cry 3, instead of focusing on a larger one. Meaning Far Cry 4's world size would have approximately the same square footage that Far Cry 3's had just more to offer.

The game also offers multiple tidbits that happen throughout the game, one of the most interesting ones is the avalanche. Players will not be able to trigger this at their own will. During the interview with Hutchinson, it was revealed that Far Cry 4 will not have a
split-screen co-op, but the game will have "head-to-head" multiplayer mode. Hutchinson also says that for some cinematics, you can interrupt them with actions. However, you won't be prompted to; instead, these actions will be hidden, he said.

If anything that is good. farcry3 was big enough as is and i spent hundreds of hours on that game getting achievements looking for relics killing alligators and setting weed on fire. and if the map got bigger it would simply be to fucking big for a fps (in my opinion)

Another way of saying they want to copy and paste :troll:

Joking, but at least they are focusing more on the things in the land instead of making it bigger.

Far Cry 3 is a pretty great game which had a decent story line. If it's half as good as FC3 then we probably wouldn't enjoy it as much. Cheesy On a serious note I'm looking forward to this game and hope they enhance the multiplayer, Coop Campaign would be nice.
