(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys this is just a quick post just to let you all no that there is still phone scams going on in regards to your computer.

Basically it starts off with the "advisor" saying is this ........... with phone number ........... and then they give you a load of crap about how your computer has error's that they can see on there end so they are calling to help you correct them.

It then goes to something so trivial about you having to talked to like an idiot by them saying have a look on your keyboard and do you see the key "CTRL" at the bottom left near that is a "Windows" key press and hold that then press the "R" key at the same time.

Then in the Run command box type in "eventvwr" now once you do that they will ask you to double click on Custom Views and then on Administrative Events.

As soon as you do that they will say that all the problems in the box are from you using the internet or downloading files through email or what have you and that all the problems are going to cause problems to your computer and it will eventually stop working or break all together.

At this point I started to quiz them a little bit to get them to slip up and they just kept repeating themselves until they put me through to there "supervisor" to assist me some more.

*Cough* Scammers *Cough*

So I played along a little bit longer and they kept repeating the same things about how these errors were bad and they are worse than a virus because I don't no about them and they can stop my computer working all together blah blah blah.

It eventually got to the ok we can fix this for you just type into the run box again the team viewer website and download it.

Once done they will ask you for the user code and the password and remote access your computer and basically try to get you to pay for something when there is nothing wrong at all.

If you end up paying them all they will do is mess with your files, delete what they can, and say your basically an idiot.

I was called 5 times today and got very annoyed with them because they were talking to me as if I was a child and thick so I told them a few things they didn't like Winky Winky

In the end I told them that my computer could set on fire for all I care I was not giving them remote access to my computer. I also pointed out to them that they would not be calling me about such problems because if anyone from windows was to call it would be because the version of windows on that computer is "Pirated" so to speak because I used the same code for all of my computers lol so basically 1 is legitimate and all the others share the same code.

This was in the UK so I just thought I would give you a heads up guys.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS ALL THEY WILL DO IS TAKE YOUR MONEY AND MESS WITH YOUR COMPUTER WHEN THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. IF YOU GET A CALL FROM SOMEONE SAYING THEY ARE FROM WINDOWS TECH SUPPORT HANG UP THERE AND THEN OR TELL THEM TO REMOVE YOUR NUMBER FROM THE SYSTEM AND YOU NO THEY ARE SCAMMERS!

This has been happening for ages, the best thing to do is play ignorant and waste as much of their time as you can. Even better if you have a VM and can let them connect while you sit back and laugh. I watched on video of two guys that made an XP VM, put a virus on it that launches every time you click pretty much anything on the desktop and spent 2 hours watching the scammer try to get something on the computer to work so they could steal some personal details, though there were no personal details on it in the first place. I'd post it but can't remember the name.

LMFAOO might actually try that just had another call from them again soooo this is a great possibility Happy

Yeah I no it has been happening for a while but I stopped getting calls from them a few years ago just popped back up unless they just moved to a different country for a while.

It's best to at least spread the information so that more people no about it Happy
