Forgot to write what I use myself, was using windows 7 but I didn't like the way it looked or performed anf the updates were a pain plus the yearly format to increase performance, tried Xubuntu, hated it because it looked even uglier, had previously tried Debian, Manjaro, Crunchbang and hated them all on a whim tried Arch, fucked up install a couple of times but got it after 3rd or 4th. Started with nothing, installed a window manager and some other essential pieces of software, never looked back since, still have win7 installed as a dualboot just so I have access to office and photoshop, but for everything else I use linux, updates are easy and it never crashes, and for a bleeding edge OS, it's surprisingly stable plus the wiki is great and the software repo's are good but combined with AUR, you have everything you could need. Switched to using it on my laptop too yesterday, just setting up stuff for it now.
