,I want to say I'm really happy for what I'm about to do. My international team from school plans on going to South Dakota this April and we are going to go to Pine Ridge Reservation to help build outhouses, bunk beds, and wheelchair ramps for the Lakota. I always love helping people around me especially to the ones that are very poor that need support. This is one of the major projects I would ever do in terms of helping people outside my area to a place where people are more desperate of what they needs compared to my usual life around. This is also one of the best chances to learn about the culture and life of Native Americans by experiencing it in real life.
Originally, we were going to Dominican Republic to help build homes but unfortunately, we didn't gain sufficient amounts of fundraising to help reach the $25,000 goal by the end of June. My team decided to switch to this trip which requires us to fund raise $8,000. My team is pretty much almost half way to this fund and we are finding other ways to reach our goal for the next 8 weeks.
