Mosquitoes should be a protected species

Thats what I was thinking, but mosquitoes have no real purpose on earth. I still feel they should have a right to live, but it makes me less sad knowing they won't affect really anything. ( if they go through with it )

You know I'm rather torn between this, it could be a good thing but what I don't like is the idea of humans playing god in this way and just eradicating a whole species. I struggle to see how they would do it on a global scale. Furthermore, what if there's more to be learned from the animal, biological creatures even simple ones are still far more advanced than any of our technology, if they could as easily create such a thing as they could destroy then I would be fine with it.

Mosquitoes to in fact have a purpose, but, God damn I hate them with a passion. In Canada, I'm lucky if we get 2 full months of summer, and those two months are mosquito ridden and irritating to say the least. I don't care if humans are playing "God" and I don't care if it seems irrational to kill all of them just because they are annoying.
