Last game I got which had mixed reviews was Driveclub. Due to the buggyness of the game it had some pretty bad reviews, after the bugs were fixed it received some good reviews.
Watch Dogs, many hated it, some loved it, I for one simply enjoyed it. Didn't have high expectations like many and it really surprised me, gameplay was fluent and the story was above average, if there was a sequel I'd probably get it after the price drops.

Far Cry 3 had some serious slating after it looked extremely pretty at E3 2012 I believe and months later on its release, not so good. People accused Ubisoft of implementing more foliage or generally extra stuff for the PC demo to make it look better than it was. The same thing happened to Watch Dogs and this was actually exposed as someone found the disabled 'e3' files in the game and released them to the public to use so I guess the same thing happened with FC3.
Regardless the game was still ok for its time and the story was well worth it, FC games always drag you in with the story, one of my favorite titles.
Honestly, I enjoyed MW2 a lot. It's understandable that it received a lot of hate, but I never really had any issues with the game. It probably helped that we constantly played search and destroy and demolition with a six man. So we never really had any weak links that would cock up the game for us.
