(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Recently i have bought a one month subscription for babbels russian courses and so far its going great! In three days i have finished 1/3 beginner courses. I plan to finish the other two by friday. These courses are just the start, there are a lot more courses that go more in depth about things like grammar, sentence structure, or other misc topics. I would like to be at a high intermediate level by the end of my month subscription. I would like to know has anyone here learned a second language at a later age than childhood? If so how long did it take you?

I learnt italian for 6 years in primary school (elementary schoolfor u Americans) and 2 in highschool but dropped it last year, now learning japanese and I love it. 日本語はおもしろいです。 (Japanese is interesting). Also know some german, just don't have much vocabulary for it though.

I need to look into learning Spainish or French but I don't have the time at the moment.

I learnt Arabic and Kurdish in my late childhood.
Good luck, it's actually really hard to learn a different language with different letters and numbers.
