What kind of content do you wanna see posted here on the website? Some of you guys have been here since the beginning in 2008 and it would be nice to get everyone's visions or ideas for content all in one place.

Keep it appropriate and all negative/derogatory comments will be removed.

Looking forward it has to be things on nextgen games/consoles.

Thanks for being the first to respond, Squid.

You've made some good points! Glitching is a solid base for the website, as it's proven since the website was built that it's something that always has worked for us. Next-gen consoles are something that should go without saying, same with next-gen titles, etc. Everything "next gen", hahaha.

However, I have one question. You believe that modding should be put on the back burner as it attracts many people ... Activity is what keeps all websites running, or at least activity is a variable in all website success.

There is negative and positive attention, I must admit. I've been an advocate for pushing forward past modding/hacking for many, many years, however if it was to be put on the back burner then there wouldn't be as much as an incentive for people to log on here, to help with numbers, subscriptions if they have one, etc.

If that kind of activity isn't something you think is for the best interest of the website, what kind of activity do you think would be?

Agreed if we left modding on the back burner i think it would decrease the activity which isn't good. But maybe focus are intentions on glitches etc. I know Outsider has been doing that on BO3 and hitting it up on YouTube.

I think phones/tablets is a dead forum yet we spend our lives on them.. I think there should be potentially more hings we could do towards mobile/tablet section.

Do you think modding should be put on the back burner or rid of completely? Glitching is one thing, modding is another. The two hold different titles within the niche and with NextGenUpdate being a website practically ran by those things - what is that saying about us?

If we were to prioritize differently and put modding aside, we'd need something to take it's place. That something needs to be bigger than modding itself, if you're wishing to move on and strive without modding in the picture.

We need contributors in a specific area that will attract the right crowd from outside of the website. We just need to find that area in which people will want to contribute valuable information, tools, etc. consistently.

What improvements could be made towards that section? Handhelds haven't been my area of expertise whatsoever, so I can't say I'm aware of what needs to be done in there.

We need modding in the picture otherwise im sure most would agree the site would get rather inactive.

Agreed on contributors to specfic areas, like we have the Gaming Squad/squid they provide content but it's all for modding and nothing really new. I do appericate all they do as it's pure skill and knowledge how they do it.

TBH, this is a gaming forum, the more we can get people here by any means is good. Modding is the high point, but what happens in a year or 2 when it stops or becomes alot less quite? Does NGU go down with it? I remember in the cod4 days where it was active. I think the gaming society has changed massively over the years.

When we had people such as da_killer_69, MR_M5 on here, it was all about the leaderboards and having that bit of geek fame. Even try to show off the boosting section's in the new cod. Look for new/old glitches, get people to post tut's, killcams, gameplays and walkthroughs? Youtube has a massive audience and i think we could advertise NGU a little more on there. We should look at the popular games and the biggest releases and see what we can make from them.

but i think the priority are:

Modding
Glitches

That's all we really have. But everyone loves a new glitch even for zombies.

Gaming Squad should keep doing what they're doing ... I'm not sure what their pace is, how often they release things, etc. They contribute valuable things to the niche, more consistently than most communities I assume, it's just finding people to do things outside of modding/glitching.

We've cleared up both here and in private that we agree modding/glitching should still be apart of the roots, so I'll move onto the YouTube aspect of your comment.

YouTube is indeed a massive audience, especially in the gaming niche. Travis has done a superb job of upholding the channel and from what I've heard about from him personally, there's a lot more in store.

Do you have any ideas for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and maybe even any other social media outlets?

Instagram it's a tough one but we could use that for giveaways? or when a new dank menu is released?

That's what I had in mind. FB/Tw used as a means to conveniently distribute the website's content.

Instagram? Who knows. We can use it as a way of releasing breaking news in snippets ... For hacking/glitching and menus.

But yeah instagram will be the toughest one.

Maybe twitter/facebook could do surveys/Questionnaires?

I'll have to look at competing Instagram accounts in the niche to see their ideas and how we can make them our own. Don't want to just be posting memes when there's so much more that could be posted.

Surveys/questionnaires are a good idea. I enjoy the idea of these outlets being a means of around-the-clock communication and community interaction. Exclusive giveaways on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc. would be sweet. JUST a Twitter giveaway or JUST a Facebook giveaway to bump up activity. Keep things going but personal in their own habitats.

Like you previously stated, this site is mostly trafficked by many people around the world into the modding community. Some sections of this forum are dead, but some users still try to revive them. Don't worry though, PS4 Scene is already coming through. It might take some time, but we're all making progress. If the PS4 Section is tripleing the amount of viewers every 2 weeks. I can imagine in a couple of months. By then, there should be new releases, and great news for many people to come in to check out. This isn't just about the PS4 Mods and Cheats section. There are a few ideas we could do to make the forum get more active again, and it's very simple to be honest.

First of, PS4 Mods and Cheats is always under control. Either me, or other members keep that section perfectly structured. We'll see a TON of more traffic coming in VERY soon from what Outie has in stored for you all.

In addition, you talked about the Phone Section. From my own calculations, a thread I created on Google & Android constantly gains a good 1 thousand viewers everyday which is really outstanding to be honest. Maybe if we get a bit of users to start posting updated tutorials and cheats on that section many people would start trafficking in more. Same goes to every other dead section. PS Vita section, i'll attempt to revive it once again with all the mods, tutorials, and releases. Over 300+ so that can easily get revived for those who enjoy PS Vita.

We have some top-notch computer specialists on NextGenUpdate. They could work on that section, while others easily fix, and start rebuilding this site back to how it was.

In conclusion, trust me. I know i'll get hate on this, but i'm being very honest. It wouldn't be hard to gain a ton of traffic back here. If we had plenty of people start making threads with updated shit. We'll see a lot of new members joining, and would want to start helping us. I would find it interesting working on some dead sections easily, but I wouldn't be able to do it myself. Each person who is great on a certain section can contribute with that one while others to there part on others. Think about NGU like recycling trash. Everyone is lazy, (guilty is charged) and no one isnt going to want to help. We can either begin early, and start helpjng out for a better start, or we wait until the PS4 Scene magic starts up for a new big bang on the NextGenModding Scenes.

If you made it this far, I solute to you. Peace.

I agree. I'm glad to see somebody who cares so much about the community.

Good to see you've found success in a dead section. However, it's not big or active enough to make an impact (right now) on the website. Ultimately, on a gaming website, people want to discuss video games, not cell phones.

I did ask what content people want to see, but this isn't an answer to my question.

Same answer as above.

Conclusion:

I'm happy to see a fellow member of the community striving for the 'revival', if you will, of NextGenUpdate. It seems like you have a lot of ideas to bring to the table and I might say that SQUID and I got a little off track, which seemed to stem into a completely different conversation.

I'm not asking what sections need to be removed or paid more attention to. It seems your answer(s) consistently point back to finding dead sections and posting in them. That doesn't necessarily mean that's what people want to see, and if people don't necessarily want to see something, why show them?

I'm looking through your created threads and it seems as if you have a heavy presence in modding ... Try sticking with that! Try fixing the issues within that niche in the website and then expand on that.

Sorry if I went off topic, but it's true. People say some sections are dead, but don't want to even try to show effort by contributing. What content I want to see? More threads, and more content from other users.
