You find the total RFM of the formula, which for Sulphur Dioxide is 64g/mol.

Find the RAM of the elements in the compount which is 32 for Sulphur and 16 for Oxygen, but since we have two Oxygens it's 32.

You then put the molecular weight of the element over the molecular weight of the compound and multiply it by one hundred.

what the **** have they been teaching you?

You take the atomic mass of sulfur, and add it to the atomic mass of oxygen(then double that amount for oxygen). Add up your results, and then divide what the mass of sulfur was from your total.

No shit, that's what I did. I just found out the %age by mass of Sulphur and Oxygen for kicks.
