Only way to do that is through terraformation of other planets, forced sterilization of high-population areas (India, China, etc.), or the mass-decimation of areas deemed useless to the future generations (manual selection).

Take out the middle east which eliminates a wide range of issues and then take out India who's birth rate will exceed China's in the the near future, as well as Africa which eliminates the major aids and malaria crisis and then filter down the population eliminating individual's that hold no value: Criminals, rapists, murderers, welfare leeches, hoodlums, mentally disabled etc. -- Sure it's not a very nice thing to say or a very nice idea, but to survive you must retain resources and at the rate that we're going when you compare the age of the earth to the estimated time we have left, theres not much.

Trust me, I have no respect for what India allows (forced prostitution of children and women with no restriction -- same with Malaysia), and the carrying capacity of Earth is 8 billion pillion, if that. And we're nearly there now. It doesn't help that all these environmental reforms that have been passed, especially under the Obama administration, will either be repealed or limited by upcoming president and his staff, thereby making our pollution and environmental damage increase. People, politicians especially, don't like to think generations in advance -- the long-term, but rather the 'here and now', where only we and our direct descendants matter, not the people in the next centuries, which leads to the issues at hand: overpopulation, warfare, disease, limited resources = alliances, betrayals, destruction; never-ending.
