Yes people do use wireshark. This the wrong forum to ask in so you will not get an answer here. This is for posting software tools, try the question section. I suggest stating what you are trying to do as there are other tools that may be better suited for your purpose.

Just to watch for activision and Sony tcp packets?? Isn't this the main reason? I'm pretty new to this... and I was trying to find someone else that uses this while playing call of duty because I keep getting a Sonycomp wanting to know where my ps3 ip address is located but it's not a tcp packet it's a acp I'm pretty sure... just wandering if this is normal and what I should really be looking for?

If I understand what you are asking correctly you are concerned that they need your IP address, if not then forgive me for misunderstanding.
It is normal for anything you connect to on the internet to require your IP address. This is how data can be routed back to you, without it you would not be able to communicate with them. Sort of like every packet is a phone call and your IP is your phone number, if they don't know your number they can not reach you.
Every packet contains your IP address, in TCP/IP the packets don't always take the same route to you and do not always arrive in the same order as they are sent, this why it is required in each packet.
In short, it is normal and nothing to be concerned with.
