I only get the "odd" noise. It's because of the scratches on the disc.

try and clean the blue ray and if it works then that was your problem, and does it happen with the same
game everytime, or all the Disc's... i once had a game "brand new no scratches and it would not work on my or
none of my friends ps3's "
