I have a problem, my computer seems to have very slow internet, even though it is 8MB broadband. I was downloading COD4 on steam and it was going like 50-500kb/sec.

Is this normal for steam? Or is my broadband slow randomly.

It could you host like Verizon, Comcast is running slow or Call of Duty hade a virus come with it

If lots of other people are downloading from steam it will go slow. I usually get 1-2MB/s from steam, but when the Left4Dead demo was released and everyone started downloading it, I could only get 60KB/s or less.

Steam ( valve Corp ) Never puts virus in any files so there should be no virus in the file cuz if it does...Valve ( steam ) will get sued for it.

Well thanks for quick reply's guys, I messed with the dl location settings and now running a constant 500-600kb dl speed.
