As soon as i sent the payment via Paypal, he deleted/blocked me on skype. So what I did was I filed a dispute on Paypal to get my money back. Now Paypal said i can escalate this dispute to claim, which lets them decide the outcome of the dispute. My question is, Should I escalate it? Do I have a choice? What if I escalate the dispute to a claim and Paypal lets the scammer get away with my money? Please help.

Why would you not want to escalate it.
You have nothing to lose at this point. he has your money, you have nothing.
Provide them with whatever details you have including screen copies.
At the least, they may freeze his account, or have him down for the next person that he scams.

If he hasn't responded to you, definitely escalate it. Either Paypal will officially review it and make a decision based on both stories and proof, or, if he does not respond, you will get your money back in a week.

Well he did reply but what he said made him look stupid, and when i replied to what he said, it made him look like an idiot even more lol. I did escalate it anyway, hopefully I can get my money back. :/

When you submit replies on the dispute, don't talk too much for nothing just say what is needed, show the proofs and nothing else do not talk about the scammer just focuse on your issue .
