Has anybody else heard about AMD's new technology they're developing? It's called hUMA or heterogeneous Uniform Memory Access. Basically it allows for both CPU and GPU processors to be running on the same chip, without any cache errors from switching within the memory. It seems pretty cool. The first processor with HSA hUMA is codenamed Kaveri, using AMD's Bulldozer-derived Steamroller cores with a GPU. The GPU will have full access to system memory.
This really isn't of very much use unless you're a programmer, however the Playstation 4 being released this year will be integrated with one of these AMD CPU/GPU cores and it is believed that the next XBOX will follow right behind. Gaming consoles being integrated with PC technology opens up a whole lot of possibilities for awesome graphics and just overall smooth handling when it comes to playing and operating on these systems. I think this is going to be great.
