(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay, so I tried explaining to my mother who has zero knowledge about the internet. My family says Verizon is shit but they never tried Verizon I bet. I have Comshit (Comcast) and the bill my mom pays is $80. We get only 40 channels NO CARTOON NETWORK DISNEY DISCOVER HISTORY AMC ECT, there is NO HD BOX, only 2 boxes for us. Now, lets get to the internet part:
My mother pays $50 for internet. 30/5 mbps. 250GB monthly usage and for sure, my brother uses NETFLIX. We don't even get a fucking 5 upload speed, you know what we get? A god damn

speed. Sometimes I CAN'T CONNECT TO BLACK OPS 2 or any CALL OF DUTY GAMES. This happens the same with my neighbors WIFI, yup same plan. So don't start saying bring a Comcast Tech there, because they don't know anything.

Now, I never tried Verizon Fios so I did a research on it. So far, Verizon offers unlimited data, a You must login or register to view this content. offer NO CONTRACT. With Contract, We could get a 300$ Amazon Gift Card which I would love because I want to build a PC and save money. The speed is AWESOME because I always want to livestream, but I can't because Comshit reduces my speed to bloody hell. They even have a price guarantee for one year. It's 90$, but we get 210 channels and I don't even watch TV, my mother does. HD too! Well I guess my family says Verizon is shit, but honestly by looking at it, it looks good.

What are your opinions about Verizon Fios? is it better than Comcast? Any bad side to it?

BTW - I heard you cannot use your own routers, you can use only Verizon routers. I just want to use two routers so my brother can use one and I can use the other. I limit the speed of the upload speed on my brother so it won't lag me when he uses Netflix.

The company is crap like all major ones but its hard to get fast net speeds other than using them and 50/25 is some sweet speeds, I think cod is more ping but then u get lag for being host so just watchout, and if you use alot of Netflix they will rape your bandwidth, same as youtube

You should look online for some forums for this specific issue. Peoples experiences will vary with different ISP, especially in different locations. For the longest time, Charter Communications was considered a shitty company; in our area they haven't been that bad... Although, shit has gone down hill nationwide thanks to the new Over-paid Executive **** ( OEC - CEO ).

I would suggest you make sure it is available in your location, as in you actually speak to someone on the phone. Been a number of times people believe FIOS is in their region only to learn it's dsl only. Verizon is a shit company (although their services are not that bad). From speaking to some member on a different forum the problem they have is latency issues.

From what I recall, you can add a second router. They have you use their router for a special reason, if you subscribe to TV as well as internet then I believe you need their router to keep things running smoothly.

In conclusion, if it's available in your area, if you can convince your folks to switch (maybe to try it out for a little bit) I would! I've heard nothing but shit about Comcast.. But... Do not get overly attached to an ISP without bandwidth caps... I mean it is Verizon after all.

Get a hacked internet box or whatever people call them or get someone to do it for you. There's a forum where they do all those things. Google can help you with that.

I have TWC and get about 40/50 or more Mbps sometimes and almost the same upload speed as you but a bit higher.

I don't have any problems or lags (maybe because I only use it for gaming and nobody else uses it) at all with any games.

However, I stay away from COD games because of the stupid high pings there. See, with games like BF3 I don't have those ping problems because I can easily filter/change the location.

I wouldn't do this since I could get in lots of illegal trouble.

I have a friend that has Verizon and I can see he has bad connection when he is host but only in ground war and such. With Comcast, there is lag when i'm host on ground war too, but not horrible.

I just did a research - and I can't tell whether it's here or not. I might have to call them.

Verizon FiOS isn't crap. My sisters apartment has it and it's super fast! At my house it takes forever to download games/demos on my PS3, but at my sisters house it goes super fast.
I highly recommend it.
