i herd you need to save the ssh files but i bought the phone on ios6. is there any way to downgrade to a lower firmware?

If you have the SSH on 5.1.1 if not then you can't downgrade.

i also want to downgrade my 4s, but i cant, i have ios 5.1.1 shsh blobs, and the original ios 5.1.1 ipsw, but when i want to downgrade (bypassing signature server) it gives me a error when my phone is in recovery mode, and its in an update loop, and i have to kick it out recovery mode with tiny umbrella

could you not get an SSH off someone that had an iPhone 4 on ios 5.1.1 and use it on mine?

no it has to be your own iPhone SHSH blobs. Without SHSH there is no way to downgrade.
