(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So the situation is whenever I try and "restore" the custom whited00r firmware for io5 on my iPod touch 2gen, it always gets stuck at the "Preparing for restore" stage and I eventaully get error 1601.

This is what I did:
Step 1) Download whited00r firmware for iPod touch 2gen
Step 2) Put my iPod into Pwned DFU through redsn0w
Step 3) Open up itunes and SHIFT+Click on restore
Step 5) Select the custom Whited00r firmware
Step 6) Get stuck at the "Preparing iPod for restore" part of the process
Step 7) Error 1601
Step 7.5) repeat process 8 times and get tempted to smash iPod into tiny bits

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

My iPods specs are:
iPod Touch 2gen
MB model
ios 4.2.1

Thanks Winky Winky

I have not, should I use TinyUmbrella to back them up? I didn't think it would be necessary to back them up since I'd be upgrading, not downgrading Happy.

lol, no even when your upgrading to a iOS that isnt the latest you will need your SHSH unless your upgrading to the latest, then there is no need. But you should use TinyUmbrella now, and hopefully your lucky enough to have some saved. If not, then your kinda outa luck "/
