Thanks for viewing this thread.
I saw the thread about the 6.1 jailbreak and it sounded like a must-do. I was on 5.1.1 firmware with redsn0w's untethered jailbreak. I went on iTunes and clicked on "Download and update." Since it was about 10 minutes long, I decided to go play some AC3 while waiting for it. I come back and find an error on iTunes stating that it couldn't complete the process, and it put my iPod into recovery mode. Therefore, I went on TinyUmbrella and attempted to kick it out of recovery mode but now it just shows the apple logo for about 4-6 seconds then turns black and repeats the process.
I put it back onto recovery mode manually (power button + home), then tried kicking it out with RecBoot and it did the same thing.
Help, please?
ok i also have a ipod 4th gen and i was on redsnow untethered jailbreak as well so what i did was
step 1:update to ios 6.1 (official) from ios 5.1.1
step2: use the evasion jailbreak to get to the 6.1 jailbreak
step3: everything is what you want to do from there on

these are just 3 simple steps i done to get my ipod out of the redsnow jailbreak and onto evasion . to explain the error and black sreen i dont know ? . but just try what i have told you if not attempted already . So if you can get your ipod to show up on itunes its straight forward from there . hope i helped a little
