heres whats happening...

I open Adobe After Effects and all is fine, i make a new composition and all is fine still but i right click and go Import>File...> and find a preset background file. However when i go to click it it says

After Effects error: Can't import file "germs.ffx": unsupported filetype or extension

(0 :: 1)

Please if anyone can help ill send them 50k vbux!

germs.ffx would be a plugin. you dont import plugins that way, you drag and drop them in the AAE plugins folder (i forget the exact extension but u'll see it). hope that helped you out.

Um im draggin them in... and nothings comming up...

you have to coppy that effect into the preset folder on your HDD. If you're importing a background or something it needs to be an image file (jpeg, png etc)

make sure its the right effects folder (there are 2) and you need to restart after effects once you drag them in. and are you looking for it in the right place once you open AAE?

When i drag them in it doesnt do anything...

then your dragging them to the wrong place... and you have to restart AAE after you imprt new plugins/presets

I dont get what you mean when i drag them in nothing even happens it just closes the box and does nothing...

as in close after effects. then restart it. and do you even know where to look for presets once you put it in right? how new are you to after effects?

very new, but im sure thats not supposed to happen... Have you got team viewer?
