I am wondering how you can place two clips in the same place for example if you wanted a good dramatic look and had one guy facing forward shooting his pistol, then a sideways shot of a sniper as an example as I don't know how else to explain it. Basically so you have a guy shooting a pistol in the left side and the sniper taking up the right side, or blend it.
Ive tried putting the layers on top of each other so they overlap but that is basically just a transition, not actually playing them both at the same time?

If you're using Sony Vegas Pro you need to use the Track motion tool, which is the strange square with another Square inside it with an arrow, located on the left pane next to the video. You can then manually change the size of the selected clip, but it Locks aspect ratio. To stop that simply click the lock ascpect ratio button located on the top of this window. You can preview the clip in the preview box as you change it. Then to move the clip simply click and drag on the box with a circle in the centre. Do this for both clips, and position them side by side
