its a .veg file cause i want to use the template but i dont know how to change the text on it?

As I don't know whether you're familiar w/ Vegas or not, I'm going to talk to you like a noob lol :p

Down the bottom there are video/audio tracks(layers with numbers to the left). Find the one for the text, then there should be 3 buttons basically on the video track(text one). Click the green one, and it will sort of open up in the Video Media Generator, now just change the text there and it will auto-change the text in the video meaning there's no need to save or anything.

When you're done, just render out the video.

when i press it nothing comes up

It won't 'come up' as such, it will just become the layer you're editing in the top left.
