It needs a lighting source.
The effects on the text are nice, just the font isn't too great. Text is always the hardest part, don't let it bug you.
Also what did you save this as? The quality of the picture seems kinda low.

Wow, that's some good advice. I put in a white brush over his face, then set it to lighten on a low opacity, I always thought that was as good as a light source as I needed.

I saved it as a .jpg, that's what I've always been saving them as. What would give a higher quality?

Yeah png better ... i agree with the guy above maybe needs some lighting an i would do something about the clipping mask bar change the layer style abit maybe faint drop shadow or something play around.

That's a good idea, I was trying to make it a bit different from the rest of the sig and just blurred it a bit, a drop shadow would make it look good maybe.
