i cant really cos i use photoshop, but i used to use Gimp, id advise using google to search such things as "Gimp brush sets" or "Gimp Brushes" just look around a bit you could find some real gems. As for renders, type in the picture you want e.g. Scorpion (of mortal combat) followed by render. Then you'll probably get some scorpion renders, alternatively sign up here and they have C4D's, renders and probably brushes, you'll have to sign up but it's well worth it. They probably have the biggest colllection of C4D's etc.

and youtube is your best bet on sig tutorials because some of them actually talk there way through
and we are also good to rely on... post your work and we will tell you what to work on and stuff
