I'm more familiar with Sony Vegas, and I want to use Cinema 4D for intros. Should I keep After Effects? Is it suggested that I edit stuff in Vegas and render that and open it up in After Effects for effects?

Yeh, use C4D for intros, sony vegas for the editing, cutting, effects etc, use after effects for cool text and more features to make your video look good.

Why use sony vegas for fx? AfterFX is like 5x times better if you know how to use it.

Havn't used after effects that much, used more vegas but that's just my opinion from what I have experienced .
