(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is a thread to help all you out there that are looking to buy a capture card but dont know which one to buy? I'm going to list the 3 I have worked with, and 1 extra. You can use this information to help you buy a capture card.

Im going to list them from best to worst based on my opinion.

1. - Hauppauge HD PVR
This piece of kit is a beast, from the name all the way to the final product (the recording).
It records HD resolution up to 1080i from the component output jack on your TV/PC monitor.If you are a hardcore gamer and have the budget to buy one of these I would 100% recommend skipping (dont think "do i need to spend all that money" Yes you do!) all the lower quality capture cards, as the quality is in my opinion (with the right settings) no where near as good as this device, they just cant compare. Is it worth the money? brand new, it almost isn't worth the money, however you can pick them up second hand in great working order for a 3rd of the price.

Works flawlessly with the Xbox360. Easy to use. There is a slight delay between what is on the telly screen and the computer screen but that will just be because my laptop isn't quite powerfull enough. Again lacking power converting from AVHCD( or something like that) format to .wmv format for use in other software takes ages, some 10 minutes for a 25 second clip.It would have been nice to have seen detailed minimum and recommended system requirements before hand but then again i'm not in a hurry.
Nice toy though and if your looking to capture video from YCbCr source at 1080i then give this a thought.

2. - Dazzle Platinum
I haven't used this device, tho i do know some of the top gamers out there do use this bit of kit, i cant actually say weather it is good or not but based on what the Dazzle DVC100 was like, is the main reason i would not recommend this. 3. - EasyCAP/ezCAP/EZcap
I recommend this, before i recommend the Dazzle DVC100, i thought for the price this was a great bit of kit, so if your a family style, play for fun gamer that would just like to record his/her game play to show friends or even upload to a youtube channel just to show people out there, i would 100% recommend this, you can bring out some decent quality if you have the right programs and the right settings and a HD TV. I'm not going to add a customer review in, simply because I personally don't think you need a review for such a cheap bit of kit and you don't need to shell out £50, to record those most exciting game clips. For the price, i recommend it.

4. - Dazzle DVC100
I first bought the EasyCAP, believe me the EasyCAP is 60times better then this based on the price, I would personally pay £10 MAX!
for this piece of crap, i hated it it was worse then the EasyCAP I wouldn't buy this its not worth the money nor the time, i took mine back the very next day!

DONT BUY A DAZZLE DVC100

For me, it had to be the HD PVR others might not need this, they might want to go with a cheaper option. What ever you do guys, do not buy a Dazzle DVC100 they are the worst capture card (in my eyes) on the market you can shop around to find something more suitable for a better price. I hope i have helped some of you in some sort of way.
