Iron man looks a little bit 'To stand out' Maybe trying blending it in a bit more?

I spent like a half hour trying different backgrounds, tints, c4d's to flow, nothing blends well with maroon :/

that's not what he's saying at all
he's saying you don't have an image in your head of what your going to make
you just paste stuff on a canvas and see where it takes you
which almost always turns out bad
try to draw out what you in your head
and if you are doing that you lack creativity or bad at executing it
