I'm not sure why, but I feel like it's missing something/unfinished.

Blending? I thinks so.

Gonna have to say what Wounded would say, it looks 65% finished (like all my sigs :p)

You could have blended the render more into the BG.
Add some more effects.
Might be just me, but maybe a gradient layer would look cleaner.
I like the smudging you did though for you first sig in a while.

Some pen tooling on the shoulders going outward would look good. like a lightening effect. But it does look unfinished.
