The top one is way to over bright.
Maybe search for some blending tuts bacause everything just looks "placed".
Nothng really blends and flows properly to me.
But keep at it everyone starts somewhere.

I agree with Crazy, see if you can make it blend together better. But otherwise, keep on going with your work =D

Those graphics are much better than mine when I first started out, and I'm still not even that good. I will point out that in first one, everything jumps out at you and there is no real sense of contrast, same thing with the second. The ngu logo is supposed to stand out but it gets drowned out by the swirly lines. You could fix that by toning down the brightness, etc. Keep up the hard work though, I'm sure you'll get there

I agree, the second one should make the NGU stand out a bit, the line going through it also distracts you from the actual logo itself.
