(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Over the past few years ( if you all have been a member of NGU that long) you all have noticed the death of the visual art and graphic design scene here on NGU. We went from graphics being a major part of this site to now the forum itself isn't even visible. We've lost a great amount of graphic members. At one point in time we had i want to say about 6 different graphic groups / clans.

We used to host an event called SOTW ( signature of the week ).
It was a competition to see who could each week , make the best signature based on the random subject chosen per week. This wasn't only just about winning. It sparked ideas ; made people think outside the box and during that time is when NGU was a forum not only known for gaming but for graphic design as well.

I see a lot of post now are only being focused on social media branding. I understand that in today's world that is one of the most important forms of graphic design. You should all challenge yourself to explore other methods and forms of visual art as it'll only increase your talent. Your design palette will grow allowing you to reach a wider base of consumers.

I , myself will try to post more artwork. I know it's been some time but most of my work now consist of college work or private work. I try to do freestyle art in my spare time but we all know how that goes!

So this thread isn't made for complaints it's made for a wakeup to all NGU artist including myself. Explore more, define who you are as an artist and post work for others to not only be inspired but to learn as well. No one is perfect in any aspect of life , and everyone has something that the next person does not lets make this a learning experience.

I agree completely. NGU was the reason I started graphic design and the reason it is my future career choice. I think if SOTW came back. even as a trial run, it would spark a rebirth in this once great section.

I came back on NGU just yesterday after nearly 2 years of inactivity.... and i was staggered by the lack of love of graphics!

I remember everyone coming on almost purely for the interaction of art and gaming. I think bringing back SOTW is a great idea!

Take us back to our roots!!
