Emm In 2006-2007 I used brushes from a guy I learned from. But 2008-2009 I pretty much stopped usin brushes and used all default.All my work from 08 till today was from scratch. No bushes.

You've been following trends too much, you're never going to develop your own style and really advance. There's a phrase out there, "plz to stop trendwhore, kthx", which applies to you. Stop following what everyone else is doing, and I think you'll do quite well for yourself.
