Things you need:


Adobe Photoshop CS4

Bank Gothic Font

How to install ttf fonts on a Mac: Click this button to view tutorial Ctrl Click the font, or right click (if you have it enabled) and open it with font book. It should give you an option to install it. Click install and that's it. Check these screenshots for reference.

Step 1: Create a new image (File>New) with the settings below

Step 2: Remove the White background by using the magic eraser tool.

Select the magic eraser tool by holding your mouse down on the eraser tool and it will pop up with three options. Select the magic eraser option

Then click your canvas and the white should disappear to a grey and white checkerboard.

Step 3: Create your text.

Select the horizontal type tool (or press t) and drag a text box.

Type Modern Warfare or whatever text you want this to be, with the text settings I have.

Step 4: Adding outline and Drop shadow.


Go to your text layer, and look at the bottom. There should be a little fx button. Click it and go to blending options.

Once the settings box pops up go to Outer Glow and make sure you have the settings as I do.

The color for the outer glow is: 7aa639

This is what our image should look like at the moment:

Now, before we add our drop shadow, we need to go change the color of the text to white.

So go back to character, click on the color and drag the slider to white.

Now go back into Blending Options and click on Drop Shadow.

Make your settings like mine:

Step 5: Making the big 2, adding drop shadow and outline to it.


Grab the horizontal type tool again, type 2 with the same settings as before.

Now, make sure Show Transform Controls, is checked and Drag the corners to make our 2 Much Bigger.

Now we are going to add our drop shadow and outline. Once again go to blending options, then click on outer glow.

Make the settings like mine:

Then, while the panel is still up click on drop shadow and make the settings like mine:

Now go back to character, and make the 2, white.

Now, grab the rectangular marquee tool and drag a small rectangle over the 2

then go to layer>rasterize>layer then hit backspace, and it should've removed a part of the 2 like so:

Now we are going to make this layer behind the modern warfare to where it looks like this:

PS: I couldn't find the exact font that they use for the 2 in the actual logo. If someone can find it, It would be much appreciated.

Bad ass tut, you got there mate! If you want a pre-made one download MW2 Safe Data, and get the save data pic... =]. Great Tut for other txt.

I like it. Thanks for the tut. Just started using Photoshop tonight. This tut if followed step by step makes you look pro. :O
