I've been looking around HTC phones(G1, Magic, Hero etc.) In places like Best Buy they go for around under $100 and obviously I you need to get a plan which adds about an extra $30. I am looking for a good phone like the HTC phones that you can hack and goes for a similar price range like the HTC phones do.

I was thinking about that from the start. In Canada from rodgers they go out for $99 but the data plan must cost a fortune.

Waayyy better than HTC phones. Look at either EnV3 or EnV Touch. Go to google and search verizon wireless and it will take you to their website and check it out. I'm not posting the link to risk being infracted for advertising
