Good news for you iPad fans. Apple is working on a making a new, souped up iPad. It is rumored to have the following:

2 cameras, one front facing for video chat and the other rear facing.

Thinner and lighter than the current model, and there's an unconfirmed rumor that Apple is readying for release a smaller 7-inch variant of the iPad.

An SD card slot will be included and a mini-USB 3.0 port.

The iPad 2 will be running the latest iOS4.2 release.

It's also expected that this 2nd generation iPad will have an improved display resolution, but those hoping for a Retina display (300 PPI) as on the iPhone 4,will most likely be disappointed. A suitable graphic chip technology just doesn't exist at the moment for such a high pixel count on a 9.7-inch display.

The iPad 2 will be shipped sometime early February based on the Digitimes report. It was meant to ship early January but they are still conducting firmware tests. But then again, Apple may release the iPad 2 in April, to coincide with the iPad's initial launch anniversary.
