(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Alright, there's a ton of steps, so be patient :p Make sure to start with your phone unplugged.

Step 1: First off, you're going to need to find your IMEI. You can find this by either removing the battery on the back and looking at the sticker, or you can type in "*#06#" as if you were going to dial, and it should show up. Type this in to a notepad on your computer without the periods (.).

Step 2a: Next, you're going to need to find your MEP key. If you have a newer device (9320, 9360, 9380, 9790, 9810, 9850, 9860, 9900, 9930), skip to step 2b. You're going to need to download the Blackberry Phone Reader (You must login or register to view this content., You must login or register to view this content.). Once you have downloaded it, open it up. It should look like this:
You must login or register to view this content.
Press the "Read Phone" button, then plug in your phone. Make sure to not type in those text boxes, as it will display the information soon. Give it between 10-30 seconds if it isn't instant. Write down your MEP key into the notepad with your IMEI.

Step 2b: If you have one of the newer phones listed above, just use the following table for your carrier to find your MEP key.

Step 3: Now that you have your MEP key and IMEI, download the Blackberry Calculator (You must login or register to view this content., You must login or register to view this content.). Open up the program, and go to the "Code Calculator" tab.
You must login or register to view this content.
Type in your IMEI and MEP in the spaces provided (With the MEP, just click the box and type in the numbers only!). Tick the "Calculate all MEPs" checkbox, then press Calculate Codes. You should see a list of a bunch of numbers, find the one that says MEP2 next to it. That's the unlock code for your Blackberry.

Step 4: Open up the Settings application, and go to Device > Advanced System Settings > SIM Card. You shouldn't see too much (you might not see anything). Type in "mepd" on the keyboard (nothing will show while typing), and more information should come up. Check the value next to "Network". If it says Inactive or Disabled, then your phone is already unlocked. If it says Active, your phone is locked. Now, hold down the ALT key, and type "mepe". A dialog box should come up asking for a MEP code. If it says 10 left, you're in business. If it says 0 left, your phone is hardlocked, and can't be unlocked. If it says 10 left, type in the numbers that follow MEP2 in the Blackberry Calculator, and press the scroll wheel/middle button. If the value of Network changes to Inactive or Disabled, you've successfully unlocked your Blackberry!

Any issues, post below.

For Canadian Blackberry owners:

If your phone is CURRENTLY LOCKED to BELL/VIRGIN MOBILE, TELUS/KOODO, or ROGERS/FIDO, you will be able to use your phone with BELL/VIRGIN MOBILE, TELUS/KOODO, ROGERS/FIDO, or any domestic/ international GSM carrier once unlocked.

If your phone is CURRENTLY LOCKED to MOBILICITY, VIDEOTRON, or WIND, you will be able to use your phone with MOBILICITY, ROGERS/FIDO, VIDEOTRON, WIND, or any domestic/ international GSM carrier once unlocked.

Your MOBILICITY, VIDEOTRON, or WIND Blackberry WILL NOT work with BELL/VIRGIN MOBILE or TELUS/KOODO as the frequencies are different. As well, your BELL/VIRGIN MOBILE, TELUS/KOODO, or ROGERS/FIDO Blackberry WILL NOT work with MOBILICITY, VIDEOTRON, or WIND as the frequencies are different.

Yeah, still should. There's a longer workaround for the 8520 though, I can help you with it if you want.
