(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); now i only understand that u by putting a patch_mp gives u mods well modded patches.

now i am hearing about these .cfg files you put on the root of ur USB and if u join a cgf infection u get the mods

now my question is if i were 2 host a cfg infection will i get those mods with out the .cfg file on the root of my usb?

or do i need the patch_mp + .cfg file on the root of my usb 4 it 2 work?

can i just use any CFG patch and enable any 1ns mod menu who has a .cfg file made by other developers.

meaning i host a mod menu by blackrain and some 1 using a .cfg file made by some 1 else would that person get his mod menu if i hosted a completely different patch as long is has cfg infections?

because i am relay confused hare.

is there an info page for all these questions because i really do not know how this cfg stuff works on that of the patch_mp that's about it.

i do not want 2 become the leach i want 2 know how 2 host as well 1 day when i get a new console id for my cfw

The common misconception about ".cfg" is that it is only used for USB menus. A patch_mp.ff file can be scripted in either GSC or CFG, but this file is used exclusively by those with access to a jailbroken PS3. GSC can be used on MW2 patch version 1.11 or below (technically; it's called bypassing). On the other hand, CFG is used on MW2 patch version 1.12 and beyond (so the current 1.14 patch). Your second sentence is true.

You need someone else to infect you first in order to activate the mods, then you can host for others. Where is place the files depends on the infection, though the most common place is indeed the root of your USB. Ask your infecter.

If you have custom firmware, use a patch_mp.ff file. But if you do not, then you will need to be infected in order to use a CFG menu on the current patch. OFW users can still bypass to use GSC menus, but they cannot host them; only those with access to CFW.

I'm pretty sure Blackrain is GSC so you would need to bypass. When bypassing, you can only play with those on the bypassed server.

IDK? Do you have CFW?

Yes i have a CFW PS3 so.

what my friend told me if i have a modded Patch_mp.ff that is program in CFG i can activate any 1ns CFG USB Mod menu's and then they can leave my lobbies and continue spreading that infection.

but my main question was can i host mods on a jail broken ps3 with the modded patch by it's self for 1.13 and 1.14? or do i need the Patch_mp.ff ON the PS3 + CFG ON USB as well?

and the other if i used xActions CFG USB Mod menu can i get it activated by some 1 who has a jailbroken PS3 with a modded patch that has CFG infections but is made by another developer with different infections.

what i am saying does the CFG USB MOD have 2 be used with the same Patch_mp.ff? in order 2 activate the USB CFG USB Mod Menu - meaning patch_mp.ff has different infections programed in compared 2 the CFG USB MOD menu on my usb which has totally different infections.

my main point is can any patch activate any CFG USB MOD menu?

Like the Patch sends out an activation key 2 those who have a USB MOD menu on there USB's who are connected 2 me.

in simple words can Developer 1 patch_mp.ff activate Developer 15's CFG USB mod menu. - not made by the same developer totally diff rent mods and patches.

it's like licensing a program u can not activate adobe master collection with the 1password serial key

or does the Patch_mp.ff only can active the USB MOD cfg files that have been made only 2 activate for that specific patch?

ok let me put this in n00b language:

if i made a modded Patch_mp.ff for 1.14 Programed in CFG and it had the infections super jump, super speed and god mode.

and you made a .CFG USB MOD Menu and it had the infections that i had + a tone of ur own infections.

and if u joined my lobby would ur .CFG USB MOD Menu activate from my patch?

and would this also work if i had a 1.13 patch beacuse on a jailbroke PS3 u can edit the PARAM.SFO file on a 1.13 patch 2 make it say it is 1.14 - and it does allow people 2 conenct online 2 U who have 1.14 installed.

If you have a CFW PS3, all you need is a modded patch_mp.ff file. Though you would want to choose one with USB infections in it.
What your friend said is correct.

Yeah the only thing YOU need is a modded patch_mp.ff file. The USB is not needed as you will already have a menu on your PS3. Plus, CFW patches generally look nicer because the zone file has been edited to make it look prettier (remove "unknown cmd", centered text, etc.).

You can use a USB menu, but there isn't really a point if you already have one.
Okay the thing about infectable USB menus is that they can be manipulated to work in any case. All you have to do is have the name and location correspond with the infection you are receiving. Most all USB menus require you to have a "buttons_default.cfg" file on the root of your USB, it's the most common infection. But if it isn't that infection, you can always rename or move the file to get it to work.

Technically, yes. You can always make it work.

You can "activate" someone else's patch in the sense that you will have enabled them to use it (through an infection / modded lobby), but you can't "send" (packets) them a key to activate their menu.
As stated above, there is a way to get Developer 15's menu to work with Developer 1's infection.

Well, you would HAVE TO have a USB infection in your patch. That's how others enable their menus.
As long as my files matched up to your USB infection, then yes, it would work.

If you aren't using 1.14, I heavily suggest that you update. You can still use any CFG based patch_mp.ff on 1.14, so there is no need to make things difficult on yourself. All you need is the current 1.14 update and a modded patch_mp.ff file.

1.12/1.13/1.14 are the same. 1.13 patches work on 1.14.
