I don't use comgenies but I don't think you need FTP for it.
I use BlackBox on my PS3, and connect to it from an FTP client on my laptop(FileZilla).
Anyway, the directory where you need to put the patch, is:

Ok Make A Folder On Your usb called Mw2 Patches Open it Now Put Your patch it make sure your patch is called patch_mp now put usb into jailbroken ps3 open comgenies now on left side go to dev_hdd0 then game then bles/blus for your mw2 (side of case) usdir then scroll down to patch_mp.ff now go to right side go to dev_usb go to mw2 patches go to ur patch and press circle then start now quit comgenies data transfer from 3.55 to 4.00 done! For 1.11 patches simply delete the default_mp.self

1. Go get an egg out of your frig.
2. Take the top cover off of your ps3.
3. Turn it on and wait 15-30 minutes for your ps3 to heat up.
4. Crack the egg on top of the power supply.
5. Eat the egg.

Left Side---- Go to; dev_usb001 click it, then hover (not click) over your patch_mp.ff

Right Side-- go to dev_hdd0, Game, BLUS30377, USDIR, again Scroll over patch_mp.ff

GO BACK TO LEFT SIDE (with both scrollers hovering over patch_mp.ff) hit SELECT, CIRCLE, and then START (not at once)

then HOLD psn button and quit, data transfer and you got it
