If you want to test a patch on your cfw you can also install a <1.12 patch but if you want to take it online you have to install the 1.14 patch and do a data transfer to your ofw.

I don't know if this works but I have been told it does
If you're wanting to test just install 1.11 patch and put your 1.14 patch on and it should work, just going off what a friend said he did
