(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Here's the situation: whenever I put the discs of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 into my PS3 Slim, the inital animated logos begin to play as normal on startup, but then they stop, the screen turns black and I am returned to the main Playstation menu. Other games that I play like Motorstorm, Assassin's Creed and Modern Warfare 3 all work perfectly.

The games load as they should when the PS3 has no internet connection, but when I plug it back in to play online, the game returns to the main menu screen once again or crashes altogether.

I have no idea what the cause of this problem could be, and it isn't one I have seen elsewhere when searching the internet for solutions, so I eagerly await some responses that could help me fix it.

I've heard about this issue, I have this on cod4 actually, No clue why it does it and never could find a fix but I'd try copying it to my harddrive then launching it with bd mirror, that might work I'm not sure.

Delete your Gameupdate, launch the game then and install it again, maybe it helps you
