Can you be more specific.
Are you using a COD4 debug eboot.bin?
Are you using COD4 on a user account that doesn't have a PSN account?
The only time I get a 80010017 error is when I try to start cod4 on a user account that doesn't have a PSN account.

No i just downloaded it from the PS store, just tried going into it with no files or nothing edited. Just a plain start. & i got start error 80010017 when i try to start the game. Fo i need to be online ehen starting it?? Or am i doing something wrong?? Please help

Hurah!
You downloaded COD4 from PS store so I guess you were logged in to PSN on your main account.
My question to you is did you start the game right away and got the error or did you do something else before starting the game?
I don't think a spoofer will help because COD4 is an old game and it will work on any PS3 FW update.

I spoof my CID, so the only way I can play COD4 online if if I start COD4 then spoof my CID. If you spoof yours, try starting on your original CID before spoofing it, then spoof it.
If you don't spoof your CID, then I don't really know what's causing it for you.
