A couple of months ago, I bought a gaming laptop. It is an Asus G75. A few days (weeks?) ago, they announced a new model, the G750 :/ It is disappointing that I can't return mine, and it sucks that this just came out now.

Anyway, my specs are:
Intel i7-3630QM 2.4 GHz Quad Core
12GB RAM
NVidia GeForce GTX 670M (3GB version)
750GB HDD 7200rpm

The new G750s come with the 700m series graphics cards. I'm expecting my laptop doesn't have much longer until games will be too powerful for it. I bought it so I wouldn't need to buy a PS4/Xbox One. Will I be okay? If so, how much longer?

Thanks guys!

It depends on the resolution and your game settings. If you don't mind playing on lower settings that laptop should last another 3-4 years at least.

How low? I have a 1920 by 1080 screen but I'd be willing to play in 720p if I could still get medium to high graphics

If that's the case you'll be fine for a few years. Don't worry.

A 670m should do pretty good at playing on 1080p on medium to high settings. In a few years though you will probably have to dial down the settings a bit.

I'm a god.
Couldn't you just upgrade it in the future?

The fact that you bought a gaming laptop is beyond disappointing. The amount of money you spent on that laptop could of bought you an amazing gaming desktop that would have lasted you for a year or two, and would have most likely guaranteed you the ability to upgrade parts.

Never buy a laptop for gaming.

Yes, I know, in every single thread people say that. But you also need to remember that people have their own reasons for buying things. A desktop wouldn't have worked in my situation, therefore I went with a laptop. I would have loved to have gotten a desktop, but for my own reasons, I couldn't.

Thanks for the help.
