Megatron V1.2

First off, I want to say that I've named my computer Megatron in regards to an inside joke, it isn't an implication that my computer is at all amazing. It's mid-range at best.

I bought my first "gaming" computer in October of last year, and I've made it habitual to upgrade it every time I could afford to do so. When I first used it, I didn't know too much about computers, only the main components needed for a computer to function, and what component carried out what process. I was more keen on Windows 7 than anything. Thankfully, over the past year I've become quite a bit more knowledgeable when it comes to PCs and their components, and wish to, again, upgrade it.

This isn't a thread where I'm asking for help or suggestions, I'm only chronicling my plans and purchases for this next computer.

Most, if not all, components will be bought from You must login or register to view this content., simply because of their constant sales/deals and wonderful service. My intentions are for every component that I buy will have been purchased at a time where it is cheaper than usual, whether it be due to it being open box/used, on sale, or free.

When an asterisk is placed after an item on the list, it means that I am open to suggestions.

Half-way finished with this build, and I'm only $145 into it.

New case came yesterday. Have it mostly set-up cable-wise. Awesome solution for the price. ASUS is finally sending back my motherboard, so I may stick with it for a while.

Motherboard came today. Nothing was fixed, and it's all beat up. Wow, ASUS. Way to push away yet another customer. ):
