OVER 9000!
Considering you're saying you'll be doing 3D work it may be worth investing in 16GB of RAM over 8 - given how cheap RAM is and how much RAM is used when doing such things it could be worthwhile.

Didn't know this Smile but I need it before the 9th of January since I'm starting on the 10th and with my luck they will release it a couple days later lol

Nvm, lol couldn't salvage from my Mac since its 204 pin and my motherboard requires 240 pin. For now 8GB will have to do until I get more money Happy

As said above wait until the 7000 series come out, or if you can't wait at least get either the 6950, or the 560Ti.

I'd usually advise against the 2600k as the i5 2500k is better for gaming but since your going to be video editing/3D design you'll need it.

1000W is not needed. you can drop 200-300W and still be able to Sli.

Is the Blu-Ray needed? Waste of money in my opinion.

Water cooling isn't needed unless you plan to do some serious overclocking.

Also, just so you know. You need a 3D monitor to be able to view stuff in 3D. These cost in excess of 250$.

If you need any more help just ask Winky Winky

So you don't think the EVGA card would be good compared to the 6950 or 560Ti? Also I'm going through TigerDirect and they don't even have those cards:wtf:. I could last until the 7000 series comes out for the prices to drop. Happy

The reason why I'm going with 2600k is that because first of my gaming class, second editing video's, lastly I shall be playing some games on it like BF3 and other titles like Shogun 2.

The 1000 watt PSU was like $40 more compared to the 800/850 watt PSU. So I just got that just incase I need some more power down the road. Winky Winky.

The Blu-Ray was just something I wanted lol. It does burn all the types of disk's, just not as fast as a regular DVD writer would do.

Water Cooling is just incase if I do overclock, than I wouldn't have to worry.

The monitor I wouldn't really need since programs like Maya and 3DS Max have the ability to view 3D model's on a 2D screen.

I'm just saying what I have researched around, also building this PC to last for a couple of years without major upgrades. Thanks for you feedback

Tiger direct do supply the 560Ti, and 6950 model cards. They'd be a pretty bad store if they didn't seeing as they're the two main cards people who aren't spending a couple of thousands tend to go for. The 560Ti is just a better version of the GPU you have already picked, its a little more expensive but there is a good difference in quality.

You know the only difference between the 2500k and the 2600k is hyperthreading? And no games need that, sometimes its even worse for games.
You seem pretty sure you want the 2600k, but it really isn't worth the extra 100$+

You can get a fan for half the price of a watercooler that will let you OC to the max as well.

As for the monitor, I assumed you meant 3D games not 3D Model Designing.

The only definite change that is needed to your build is the GPU, your wasting a lot of money on some components for very little extra performance, but if you have the money to spend, why not. Good Luck with your build Winky Winky

Nvm they do supply it :derp: lol

I just picked the 2600k since it would be the best for video editing. I see your point with getting the 2500k since it would be much less.

As for the water cooler I could of bought a cheeper fan since I already have the HAF 932.

Sorry about that should of been more clear with saying 3D modeling lol.

Thanks again I'll be looking more into it and probably changing some components to save money Smile

Pointless having a 2GB GTX 560, like the others said a 560 Ti or a 6950 would be much more beneficial. Oh and aren't newegg cheaper than tiger direct ?
Also a Corsair H60 would be a better purchase, I may be wrong here but didn't the H80 get horrible reviews ? :p
