(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Looking to buy a good desktop for around $500. I want it to be decent for gaming and everyday usage. I found 2 desktops that seem great.

Please I need your opinions on these two. Thanks. Or if you can recommend any other computer it would be nice.

The cyberpower kicks the hp's ass. Hp makes good everyday pc, they are not known for their gaming potential.

Thanks for your input. How about this one You must login or register to view this content.
It's cheaper but is it worth buying? It definitely looks good after looking at all the specs and what not.

My personal opinion is that value wise, you will be getting so much more for your money if you build your own PC. You get everything you want and nothing you don't. Plus it is a lot cheaper to build your own rather than buying it pre-built.

Now about these 2 desktops...
The CyberpowerPC is better both value wise and power wise. So if those were really your only two options i would go with this one.

Just to throw this into your consideration my PC is better than both of those and i spent around $550 for all the computer parts alone. I have a faster processor, faster RAM and amazing gaming GPU. Personally I would do some research before buying but i would definitely NOT buy a pre built PC. feels good to build something amazing.

Anyways I hoped that helped you and good luck with your decision! <Happy

It is a decent pc, but the proc, just isn't that good for gaming. It is a great media pc, watching video and streaming but no much else.
Building your own pc would save some money, and you could get better specs.

Interesting. What Pc do you have? And what's a good site I can use to customize my own Pc as you did?

There is no site, hence, build your own.

Worth the Weight
I would just like to tell you now: The PC's that are there from Cyberpower are basically just $100-150 cheaper.
So if you don't feel comfortable, know that the PC's from newegg etc. aren't too overpriced considering they have to make profit too you know..

But nevertheless here's a $500 rig.

Case: You must login or register to view this content.
CPU: You must login or register to view this content. (Or the 6770)
GPU: You must login or register to view this content.
Motherboard:You must login or register to view this content.
PSU: You must login or register to view this content.
HDSad Awesome You must login or register to view this content.
RAM: You must login or register to view this content.

Comes up to around $500. Should be alright for gaming.

I purchased all my parts from You must login or register to view this content.

Here's my build:

-EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16
-ASRock 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
-AMD Phenom II X4 960T Quad-Core Desktop Processor (overclocked to 3.5GHz)
-COOLER MASTER Elite 460W Power Supply
-HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600
-Rosewill FUTURE Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
-Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
-Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Green 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive

Well that's basically my build in a nut shell. I did not have the extra hard drive when i first built my PC so my total for all the parts (not including case) was about $550. I'm saving up for another GTX 550 Ti so i can run crossfire. (but unfortunately i'm going to have to upgrade my PSU before i do that :( )

Once again i bought everything from NewEgg. If u can't order online my only recommendation would be Micro Center (if they have one wherever you may live.)

Mr.Oppossum
I defeated!
My rig is over $1000 now so i can't help,But when i was looking for parts i compared between Newegg,TigerDirect and Amazon and it seemed like Amazon was a little cheaper and they always seem to have a good deal on most stuff,Just my 2 cents.
