(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm thinkin bout buying the 7970 for BF3 and Medal of Honor: warfighter.

My current graphics card is fine for playing them, but I can only run low-medium settings.

So should I buy the Radeon 7970 now or wait until newer ones come out?

Also, another question, is a 750-800w power supply good for a 7970?

You should buy the 7970 because its the best card right now compared to the other ones but the GTX 680 and 690 are similar to the radeon 7980 that you could also get to run bf3 on its highest settings. If I were you, I would buy the 7970 for now and wait for a game that would require a better card.

A 800-850w should be good.

(remember you can overclock your pc to have a better performance)

Also i'm building my own pc too and i will be putting a 850 w power supply and the 7970, which will cost me $1800 for the whole pc.

Post computer specifications please. I don't want you to buy this card and find out that it will bottlneck with something in your system.

However I'd get a 680, but that's just me. The low power consumption and extremely low sound is a plus in my opinion. However the 7970 has more potential. Only get that if you are going to be overclocking.

A 750W should be more than enough for a 7970. But again, please post your computer specs so I can see what CPU and other things you have, just to be sure that the card will run properly.

Just as I suspected. That machine is not going to work very well with a high end GPU considering it's specs. The CPU plain weak. And since you cannot replace it, I'd advise against going and buying such a high end GPU, as it will just bottleneck with the weak CPU.

So I would suggest something more along the lines of a 7850 or something around there. Since anything above that is just going to be wasted since your CPU can't really keep up with the GPU.

i'm also thinkin bout just savin my money and buying a pc from ibuypower.com
Do you think those pc's are good?

Or can you help me find a pc that has good components already in them so I don't need to buy them?
Cuz I didn't buy that one from Best buy yet, I was planning too, but didn't feel it was the best option.

Fuck all those cards, 750w is PLENTY for a GTX 670! Greatest card on the market if you look at price/performance ratio.
100 euros cheaper than a GTX 680, less noise, around 5-8 FPS less ingame.. !

I'd say that if you really don't want to build it yourself, iBuypower or something around there should be okay. I've done some tests and I see that they don't actually rip you off that much, but they do burn you on shipping costs if you are situated outside of the USA.

You're better off buying from them then Bestbuy. But realistically, the best way is always to build your own. If you are comfortable with their policies and warranties, along with the costs, then I'd say it's okay.

The 7970 is more powerful than the 670 by the way. It's just that the 670 is better for the price.
